Introduction

Intermediate Power 60, Course A is an online course, consisting of 50 units of English, and providing approximately 60 hours of study for students.

Course aims

To take students through many areas of English language that are studied at Intermediate, CEFR B1 level. When combined with Intermediate Power 60, Course B, it will take students up to CEFR B2 level. The course blends grammar, vocabulary, and the four core skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Grammar

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use past perfect tense to describe completed actions before another action in the past.
  • Form conditional sentences, including zero, first, and second conditionals.
  • Use relative clauses to give additional information.
  • Use passive voice in different tenses.
  • Understand and use modal verbs for probability and possibility.

Vocabulary

By the end of the course, students will have learned approximately 500 new lexical items, including words related to work, travel, education, and relationships.

Skills

Students will have had practice in reading and listening to texts related to current affairs, travel experiences, and future plans.
