Elementary Power 60, Course B

Introduction

Elementary Power 60, Course B is an online course, consisting of 50 units of English, and providing approximately 60 hours of study for students.

Course aims

This course continues the journey started in Elementary Power 60, Course A, guiding students towards CEFR A2 level. It blends grammar, vocabulary, wordbuilding, spelling, reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

Grammar

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use the modal verbs “can” and “could” to talk about present and past ability.
  • Use adverbs to talk about frequency.
  • Confidently use the present simple and present continuous correctly.
  • Use the genitive form to talk about possession, along with possessive pronouns.
  • Form simple past sentences and use irregular verbs in the past form.
  • Link sentences and clauses using conjunctions.
  • Use the correct prepositions with nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Vocabulary

By the end of the course, students will have learned approximately 400 lexical items, including common nouns, verbs, adjectives, and simple lexical sets.

Skills

Students will have practiced reading and hearing about everyday routines, families, pets, descriptions of cities, and descriptions of food.
