Elementary Power 60, Course A

Introduction

Elementary Power 60, Course A is an online course, consisting of 50 units of English, and providing approximately 60 hours of study for students.

Course aims

This course guides students through many areas of English language at Elementary, CEFR A1 level. When combined with Elementary Power 60, Course B, it will take students up to CEFR A2 level. The course blends grammatical structures, vocabulary, wordbuilding, spelling, reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

Grammar

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use the present simple in affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms.
  • Identify things using articles, there is/there are, have got, this, that, these, and those.
  • Use adjectives, including comparative and superlative forms.
  • Create yes/no and information questions.
  • Give information on time using prepositions.

Vocabulary

By the end of the course, students will have learned approximately 400 lexical items, including common nouns, verbs, adjectives, and simple lexical sets.

Skills

Students will have had exposure to and practice in reading and hearing about everyday routines, families, pets, descriptions of cities, and descriptions of food.
