Advanced Power 60, course B

Introduction

Advanced Power 60, Course B is an online course, consisting of 50 units of English, and providing approximately 60 hours of study for students.

Course aims

This course continues the journey started in Advanced Power 60, Course A, further developing advanced grammar, expanding vocabulary, and improving reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for students at CEFR C1 level.

Grammar

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Use advanced conditional forms, including third and mixed conditionals, to discuss hypothetical situations.
  • Master reported speech in various contexts, including formal and academic settings.
  • Employ advanced passive voice structures, particularly in academic and professional writing.
  • Use inversion and cleft sentences for focus and emphasis in complex sentences.
  • Use modals of speculation, certainty, and obligation in both present and past tenses.

Vocabulary

By the end of the course, students will have learned approximately 600 additional lexical items, focusing on topics such as law, environment, technology, and social issues.

Skills

Students will have practiced reading and listening to academic texts, business articles, interviews, and other real-world materials.
