Let’s Start 80

Introduction

Let’s Start 80 is an online course, consisting of 60 units of English, and providing approximately 80 hours of study for students.

Course aims

This course is designed for complete beginner students at CEFR A0 level, helping them build the essential grammar and vocabulary necessary to begin elementary studies. It blends grammatical structures with relevant vocabulary.

Gramatika

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Use the verb “to be” in the affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms.
• Identify and use plural forms of common nouns.
• Identify nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
• Use regular and irregular verbs in different sentence forms.
• Form questions using auxiliary verbs “do” and “be.”
• Use possessive adjectives to identify ownership.
• Use the modal verb “can” to express ability.
• Use articles with singular nouns and “some” with plural nouns.
• Use “some” with plural countable and uncountable nouns.
• Apply correct word order in sentences.

Žodynas

By the end of the course, students will have learned approximately 120 nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Key lexical sets include:

• Common nouns, verbs, and adjectives
• Numbers
• Days, months, and dates
• Parts of the day
• The alphabet
• Seasons
• Meals
• Frequency (once, twice, etc.)
• Simple connecting words (and, but, so, because)
• Colours
• Countries and nationalities
• Clothes
• Time and spelling
