bad hair day

(Informal)
Explanation: What is an idiom?

When everything seems to be going wrong for you.

Context:

-Hi, how are you?

-Well, to be frank I'm not the luckiest today. I think this day has been cursed upon me. Just as I was leaving for work this morning, I spilt coffee all over my new dress and I didn't have time to change. Unfortunately, that was the least of my problems... as I arrived at the office and reached for my bag, I realised that I had left it at home! So I had to quickly drive back and fetch it. When I finally found it,I noticed my son George had been stuffing all his used diapers in there whilst I had been thinking that my husband had been taking them to the bins! It took me an hour to finally clean it all out but it still stunk so I just took my necessities and threw them into a tote bag. I was so late at work that my boss ordered me to stay after hours so I couldn't go to my sister's birthday party in the evening. It was a disaster!

-Wow, it seems like you had a bad hair day, to say the least!
