against all odds

Explanation: What is an idiom?

If you do something against all odds, you do it even though there were many obstacles and it didn't seem possible to do.

Context:

-Hello Molly, hows university going? Have you passed all your exams yet?

-Hi Liam! It's great, thank you. I did have a lot of problems though, I kept forgetting important details but, against all odds, I passed all my exams! Even the history exam!

-Wow, well done Molly! I remember you telling me how anxious you were about remembering all those dates!

-Yes, I know! I'm still in shock!
